I possess a 2013 Lincoln MKX with MyLincoln Touch, Sync2. The Movement outer control panel with the capacitive touch buttons and sliders has gone erratic. The radio turns on and off by itself. Sometimes if you hit the receiving set off button on the dash, it shuts inactive the air conditioner.

My Lincoln principal cannot get a replacement panel. Says Ford does not have it available. Does anyone know what the alternatives are? I'm cerebration it is the radio on/off button on the panel that has gone bad. Could it, perhaps, equal disabled somehow? I could still turn the audio off and on with the speech realization feature.

Any other suggestions? The car only has 30,000 miles on IT. Very thwarting. Giving me a very sour tactual sensation about Ford Motor Ship's company.

I have a similar issue with our 2013 President Abraham Lincoln MKX. The AC control on the passenger side keep turning each the way down to low totally by itself.

Since first bill this, I possess resolved my problem. I Leslie Townes Hope my solution might help you.

I found that the actual touch controls on the panel are spiritualist to the normal cleaning chemicals used to clean the inside of any car. Ford knew this, but chose not to honor warranty claims for failures of the touch pads themselves.

There is a circuit display board wrong that jury. The chemicals can get in through the buttons and put sufficient contamination connected the board to cause the capacitance to go off specification and render the push/s intermittent surgery always "happening."

It's not hard to remove this impanel. Here is a video from a society that sells an accessory item for our vehicles that shows exactly how to get wise off and how to reinstall IT.

Once you get wise polish off, there are 5 runty screws on a panel covering the circuit plank. Slay those. Use electronic radio set cleaner on a cotton swab to very carefully clean the in spite of appearanc of the circuit card. Too check IT for cold solder joints. If you're non comfortable doing this, you could peradventure payoff it to an electronics repair house and have them have intercourse.

After you take in clean the circuit board, plug the assembly back in and run across if it works. If it does, your done. If it doesn't, go eto ebay..com and search for the break used. I bought a board on ebay for $102 with free shipping and no tax. Information technology took me decade minutes total to take off the old one, install the new one and reassemble. I had ne'er done it before.

The part is not useable from Ford Motor Troupe. This is preposterous. Parts should be available for a 5 year old vehicle. My Lincoln dealer refused to install "used parts" yet though they could non get a new part. They said that, if available, this part would own been over $1000 installed.

No more Lincolns for me.

FYI - FORD ONLY RECOMMENDS 70% ISOPROPYL ALCOHO. I'VE BEEN Victimisation THIS ON OURS FOR Old age. CONFUSED Or so CHEMICALS Aside THE DISPLAY. Ne'er SPRAY OR Put on ANYTHING TO THE Exhibit Leave off A DAMP CLOTH OF THE AFOREMENTIONED ALCOHOL.

I believe the APIM is a opposite part. If your display is along, but the functional problems I delineate are the problem, information technology's not the APIM, it's the outer strawma panel. If the display goes dark, it's probably the APIM.

2013 Lincoln mkt has similar issue with the fcim (forward control interface module, ie instrument panel for audio and climate etc). I'm along my sixth one in seven years. Ford dealer orders a rebuild from their radio rebuilder for about $290. There is nary stock; you order information technology then wait until they get a core to rebuild. I've been waiting 3 weeks for the latest owing to covid delays. Later 10 to 12 months they fail again.

2014 Lincoln MKZ the touchscreen when I'm operating the radio some of the buttons don't work and I find nobelium sound from the receiving set. The radio is se to play for like a day or cardinal and than it will full point performin no healthy from like a two to three days. In real time I have no sensible from about a calendar month now. When I go to settings or navigation all the buttons work out. Which module should I replace. I took out the panel and I only see a CD player, touch cover module and a APIM Module that bang on the back of the touch screen

My Abraham Lincoln dealer cannot get a successor panel. Says Ford does not have IT available. Does anyone know what the alternatives are? I'm thinking it is the radio on/off clitoris on the panel that has gone lamentable. Could it, perhaps, constitute out of action somehow? I could silent turn the audio on and off with the speech credit feature film.

Our's is doing the same thing negative the radio set go forth. Ac goes on by itself the touch bar is going crazy then it wont come down and when you shut it off it goes back connected again. I sentiment maybe a streak and wiped it. Didn't assistanc.Ive heard this is an publication with this yr make and model. My thing is , Why is it non on the recall listing?
